My focus of work is on people, human relationships and connections. I am currently painting on canvas and on mirrors. The mirror pieces, in which two mirrors are placed directly in front of each other, represent a single composition. As the observer studies each mirror separately he/she sees each woman or subject separately and in doing so, sees that person's perspective, both in geometrical and cognitive terms. The other person is there, but she appears distant and distorted, almost illusory. Within the subject's solitude, the outside world and in particular, the other subject appears unclear and inaccessible. The physical separation between the mirrors serves to represent the emotional separation that exists between the subjects.
Within each piece is a reflection of a parallel world of each person/situation that co-exists with the present, it serves as a conscientiousness that is one but also as an individual in their own space and time.
I exhibit in the UK as well as internationally and I also take on commissions.
